RCDb and Panasonic Bring Web Services to Tru2Way: Demonstrate Live Google Maps on
Cable Platform

THE CABLE SHOW 2010, Los Angeles, May 11, 2010 - Related Content Database (RCDb)and Panasonic unveiled today the integration of Panasonic's leading tru2way set-top box with the RCDb web services platform. This integration lays the foundation for bringing new consumer Internet experiences to the nation's leading cable operators. It was introduced at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's The Cable Show 2010 being held May 11-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Featured in the CableNet and Panasonic (Booth #1015) exhibit areas at The Cable Show, the live demonstration includes a tru2way application launcher and a Google Maps application that enables the viewer to navigate Google maps with a click of the remote control, on the TV, without a web browser.

The demonstration leverages the Internet capabilities of the Panasonic set-top and the RCDb network software platform, which together enable a cable operator to integrate, deploy and manage popular consumer services from across the web -- without the need for a browser, keyboard, or mouse on the consumer device.

"The RCDb platform enables cable service providers to integrate web services into their entertainment offerings while giving them the means to deploy those services quickly and in a variety of environments, with the business logic necessary to make their business model work" said Zane Vella, CEO of RCDb.

"Panasonic continues to expand the horizon of what tru2way can deliver," said Yasushi Nishimura, Director, Panasonic iDCR Software Center. "Tru2way was designed to be the next generation software foundation for innovative services and now in conjunction with the RCDb platform, the development, deployment, and management of new services is made easier."

The demonstration is being offered during NCTA's The Cable Show 2010 and at RCDb offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
